Impact Assessment Agency of Canada
Process

The Chippewas of Georgina Island First Nation are using the Impact Assessment Agency of Canada process to ensure that voices are heard, documented and addressed by the community and incorporated into the overall Fixed Link Project.  The process of assessing the Impacts is a well defined evaluation system that ensures impacts are known and responses to the impacts are provided.

In the process, the First Nation has submitted the Initial Project Description to the Impact Assessment Agency of Canada and has received comments back on that submission.

Presently, the First Nation is finalizing a number of studies and preparing to submit the Detailed Project Description phase.  This is planned for late fall 2023 following a round of engagement activities with various impacted groups.
